2 Airbags are compulsory in all cars all over India. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari states that Passenger who is sitting at the back should also be safe.
Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari said that India is on top in terms of the highest Road accidents.
Nitin Gadkari highlighted the point of getting a high-quality infrastructure and the Safest Vehicles on the highways of India.
He also claimed that Government is working on the proposal to increase the number of airbags in 4 Wheelers and all passenger-driven cars.
Nitin previously told how 6 Airbags in the car should be compulsory for Car markers to add in every trim of car whether its base or top.

During the Lok Sabha Session, Gadkari said that their intention is to save the maximum number of lives which can be a prey of these road accidents.

Govt is working to have rear airbags too in the cars. On average 500K Accidents take place in India and they cause 150k Deaths.
1.5 LAKH DEATHS / YEAR
Till Now 2 Airbags are mandatory in cars whether they are a base model, but people sitting at back are having no safety.
The cost of 1 Airbag is 800Rs, If we multiply by 6 then total cost comes to be 4800Rs which is even less than the Car Handling fees that Dealers do charge.
