Bakingo was founded with Rs 2 lakh capital on February 10, 2010.

Six years prior to the launch of Bakingo, three college friends - Himanshu Chawla and Shrey Sehgal - teamed up from New Delhi's Netaji Subhash University for their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Bakingo was established in 2016 by Himanshu Chawla and Shrey Sehgal. This venture is about filling the gap in a business that could offer fresh cakes at different locations throughout the country.

Himanshu stated that the traditional Indian bakery business was more localized. It is almost like a boutique. However, it fails to scale up with multiple outlets.

The company offers more variety of cakes, not only in major cities such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi NCR, but also in tier 2 cities such as Merrut Panipat Rohtak, Karnal, and others.

Bakingo sells close to 30% of its products through its website. The remaining 70% of Bakingo's sales are made on other food portals like Zomato and Swiggy.

The company had a turnover in FY 2021-22 of Rs 75 crores, and employed over 500 people. Bakingo opened its first offline store in Delhi this year.
