She was born in a Gujarati family where education and studies were given the topmost priority. Namita has done nothing in her childhood except study as grabbing the 1st position in class was mandatory for her.

Everyone has a role model in their life and in Namita’s life her mother is a role model. Bhavana Mehta is her mother’s name, she git married at a very early age and her dream was to fulfill all the things that she could not. She wanted to make Namita independent, a business leader, financially self-independent, and not to depend on anyone else as she had strong views on these things. Normally parents narrate fairy tales and stories of Panchtantra to their children but in Namita’s case, her mother used to show her the business magazines in which women got featured.

Bhavna always influenced her daughter to be like the businesswomen who were successful in their life, and this resulted in developing ambition and Junoon in Namita.

Namita has pursued Charted accountant at the beginning of her education and at age of 21, she became CA.

Moving Abroad for MBA

After becoming a CA She decided to give wings to her career and took admitted to Duke University, USA. There she went to pursue MBA.

When she landed in India she was confused about either job or joining her father. She joined Emcure as a CFO – Chief Financial Officer. Then she looked for difficulty in the company. At that time when she was having two of the most renowned degrees in her hand but earning respect was very difficult for her, as people were not having confidence in her and her views. 

One day she started finding solutions to the same and then decided to do double hard work and present huge numbers which can make the mouths of people shut.

Responsibility of Taking Emcure to greater heights

Namita worked continuously for the next 10 years and then she took responsibility for Emcure’s India Business. When clients use to come to EMCURE for meetings and Namita asked them questions then they use to reply to her father and it was awkward/embarrassing for her. She always wondered why people do not reply to her question to her face.

Namita believes that Women in time management are experts as they know how to manage 50tasks in one day but they are terrible in Guilt Management. She presented an example of her in which “when she became a mother and missed office event for her child’s school event she had the guilt of not attending the event and when she missed her child’s event then also same happened”

When she faced and sorted this guilt management then her life became very much productive and she always use to stay happy. Namita suggests people ignore what other people feel about you just do what makes you happy as people will always say something.

Women feel very bad when they make time for their health, happiness, and personal stuff. In India women never spare time for themselves as they think that they will be regarded as selfish.

When Shark Tank India invited her she was very happy and from this show, they will be able to tell India how they can evolve and resolve the issues. Shark Namita Thapar has evaluated over 170 Pitches and made investments over Rs 10 Crore in 25 Businesses. She invested 7 Crore on screen and 3 Crore post-show in deals in which she lost on and increased investment in some existing deals to increase her stake.

She also said that some businesses were great but due to some of their mistakes, they were unable to make huge sales. Namita mentioned Jugaadu Kamlesh and Pandurang Agri Tourism as they were going to solve the real-world problems.
